Synopsis

This lecture goes behind the scenes of Jeremy's 'River Monsters' TV series, the most watched series in the history of Animal Planet US, which has also aired on ITV in the UK. The series investigates fishermen's tales from around the world about creatures that have been hitherto unknown to television audiences. Separating fact from fiction it often reveals a truth that is every bit as startling as the myth. Meanwhile Jeremy finds that travelling with a fishing line in regions such as the Amazon and Congo not only enables him to see beneath the surface of the water, but beneath the surface of human life too.

He has written for The Times, Guardian, Sunday Telegraph and BBC Wildlife, and is the co-author of 'Somewhere Down The Crazy River', widely regarded as a cult classic of fishing literature.
