Paula Reid
Paula Reid, a renowned psychologist and avid adventurer, will share her experiences and expertise on the mental aspects of exploring the unknown.
Paula has skied full distance to the South Pole, yacht raced around the world, cycled across 19 countries, paddled the Mekong, trekked in West Papua and taken part in many other extreme expeditions and endurance adventures. Fascinated by the mindset and mental toughness of her experiences, she acquired a Masters’ Degree in Applied Positive Psychology and now she is an expert in ‘Adventure Psychology – Going Knowingly into the Unknown’. Paula has published academically on the psychology of adventuring and for our Wilderness Lecture series this winter she will deliver a talk weaving her personal stories with psychological strategies and tactics on how to survive, cope and thrive in challenging conditions.
