Since he was 19 Toby Nowlan has led exploratory expeditions in search of the world’s most endangered species. Exploration and adventure have always been at the heart of these expeditions, but his principal objective has been to help conserve the most threatened species and places on Earth. Over the last 8 years he has organised and led natural history filming expeditions to remote locations for the BBC, for Planet Earth 2 and a landmark series with Sir David Attenborough., and Netflix, for OurPlanet and Dancing With The Birds which focused on birds of paradise). The expeditions have been to all continents and have featured work in polar, jungle, forest, tundra, desert and marine habitats. Toby was our 2020 Award winner.
