Elise is a runner, writer and all-round outdoors lover. In 2016 she became the first woman and youngest person to run 5,000(ish) miles self-supported around the UK coast. This was the subject of her best-selling travel memoir Coasting, named as one of The Times Best Sports Books of 2021 and long-listed for the William Hill Sports Book of the Year. Her next book is a guide of car-free adventures, promoting accessible and sustainable travel around the UK, due to be published in spring 2024.
Elise is an ambassador for The North Face UK, Suunto and Komoot, and was also recently named as Girlguiding Midlands' very first ambassador. Through her work, she aims to demonstrate that you don't have to be 'the best' to go on a big adventure or run a long way - you don't have to be the fittest or the fastest or the bravest, you just have to be the one who does it. Elise currently lives in the Lake District where she's trying to become more at home in the fells, and she's passionate about showcasing all the adventure that exists on hometurf.
