Venues

The 1532 Performing Arts Centre is located in Elton Road, just off Clifton Triangle, it is part of Bristol Grammar School.

We will be using the MacKinnon Theatre which is a fully equipped state of the art theatre seating 320. A bar is open before the lecture starts, selling a range of soft and alcholic drinks. There are steps up to the front of the venue, but an alternative level access entry route is available. If you require level access to our venue, please contact the Box Office in advance on 0117 259 1532, they will be happy to arrange this. Please note that the public are not able to access the venue until 6.30pm.

There is plenty of on street parking in the surrounding areas including on Woodland Road, University Walk/Tankard Close and adjacent streets (please note this maybe metered, check individual machines as charging hours and costs may vary). Alternatively, the venue is just a short walk from the West End (approx. 10 minutes) and Trenchard Street (approx. 12 minutes) car parks. Parking around the University campus can be difficult. There is street parking and we are assured the people parking in University Walk will not be ticketed in the evenings (although we can take no responsibility for this). The nearest car parks are those we recommend for our usual venue in the Chemistry Dept - on Park Lane, the NCP on Trenchard Street and the NCP on Berkeley Place, just off the Triangle.

Bristol SU is the University of Bristol Students Union (Richmond Building, 105 Queens Road) which was completely refurbished recently. The Anson Room holds just under 500.

The nearest bus stop is Victora Square, served by the No8 from Temple Meads station which should take about 30' depending on traffic or a No 9 service to Queens Avenue and a 7' walk; or a No 1 or No2 bus to Triangle West and a7' walk. From the Bus Station regular services 2, 40 & 41 go to the Triangle with a 7' walk to the venue. (All journey advice was from Google Maps 20th May - please check before departures)
